Ogilvy’s honey tasting at Booths in Keswick went down well with locals and visitors alike. All were delighted to stock up on their favourite honeys and try new varieties.
Shamus Ogilvy was on hand to share stories about honey hunting and why each honey has a different flavour. “The taste is influenced by the nectar source which gives each honey a different and delicious flavour. Bees only fly in a five-mile radius from the hive so each honey is uniquely regional.
You have to try them to understand that all honey tastes different. The flavour is all to do with the flowers.”
Ten of the honeys have been awarded Great Taste Awards for their great texture, appearance and quality, but above all, for truly great taste!
